Code the future,
₿uild freedom.
I'm Fardan Maula Azizi — a software engineer building precise, performant systems at the edge of the web. Currently shipping developer tools, design systems, and the occasional indie product.
Engineer by training,
craftsman by habit.
I write software the way other people write essays — drafting, cutting, rephrasing until what remains is the smallest possible thing that says the most.
The work I'm proudest of sits in the space between infrastructure and interface: tools that feel handmade, but scale like they were engineered for a million users from day one.
When I'm not shipping, I'm reading typography history, tuning my keyboard, or arguing about monorepos.
Four things worth
talking about.
Halcyon Edge
2025Handles 14B requests/mo across 18 regions with sub-40ms cold starts. Built in Rust on top of WasmEdge; ships an SDK in TS / Go / Python.
Shell.fm
2025Built in Rust, ships as a 4MB static binary. Streams logs and rollback state in one TUI pane.
Mesh Protocol
20247.4k stars, used by 200+ projects. CRDT-based, transport-agnostic, runs in browser + native.
FontLab/var
2024Real-time axis manipulation on the GPU. Acquired by a type foundry in late 2024 and now ships as part of their tooling.
How I can help.
Product Engineering
Greenfield products and 0-to-1 features. I work directly with founders to ship the first version, then keep shipping until it earns its market.
Design Engineering
The seam between design and code. I turn Figma into production-grade components, design systems, and motion that survives the handoff intact.
Performance Audits
When something is slow and nobody knows why. I bring a profiler, an opinion, and a 2-week report that turns into a 30% latency cut.

On building tools you actually want to keep.
A reflection on the half-life of side projects, and why the ones I still use share three properties.

The hard part of edge compute isn't the compute. It's explaining the model to developers who grew up on servers.
